EMBEDDED SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY (ESM 300)

If we look around, we will find ourselves to be surrounded by computing systems. Every year millions of computing systems are built destined for desktop computers (Personal Computers, workstations, mainframes and servers) but surprisingly, billions of computing systems are built every year embedded within larger electronic devices and still goes unnoticed. Any device running on electric power either already has computing system or will soon have computing system embedded in it.

Today, embedded systems are found in cell phones, digital cameras, camcorders, portable video games, calculators, and personal digital assistants, microwave ovens, answering machines, home security systems, washing machines, lighting systems, fax machines, copiers, printers and scanners, cash registers, alarm systems, automated teller machines, transmission control, cruise control, fuel injection, anti-lock brakes, active suspension and many other devices/ gadgets.

 WHAT IS EMBEDDED SYSTEM?

An embedded system is a computer system with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints. It is a programmable chip which you can use for your fantastic electronics projects (even with little knowledge of electronics)

 WHAT WE DO?

We train students from scratch on what Embedded systems are, how to design and build electronic projects using embedded systems and how to make fantastic projects from scraps and give them intelligence using these systems. We also train students on how to program these chips to do exactly what they want them. Since our trainings are completely hands-on, students are provided with kits that contain all they will require to learn and carry out their projects throughout this programme.

 DURATION

EST 300 is a short program designed to last for about 5 weeks.

PRE REQUISITE

Any person with knowledge of high school physics/electronics with a fair knowledge on how to use the computer can partake in this program. Prior understanding of electronic circuit design or certificate in ECD 200 will be an advantage.

INTRODUCTION TO MICRO CONTROLLERS(MCU 400)

 MCU 400 exposes participants to:
  • What MCUs are
  • How to program MCUs
  • How to give your Robots (or similar projects) intelligence
  • Access control using RFID card reader
  • How to control devices and appliances using your mobile phone

  • Introduction to Micro Controllers (MCU 400) is an eye opener course for those who have little or no experience with micro controller units. Chai Wet Al Technologies has designed this package to take participants through a clear understanding of what the MCUs are and the whole world of opportunities, in the world of electronics, that the MCUs can avail. Like all of our courses, MCU 400 is completely hands-on and we solve our cases here using the Arduino development board and at times, the PIC. Students learn how to program their robots, turn your home to a smart one, build your own electronic watch dog and program the microcontroller to do some real cool things like fly your drones. Course is concluded with controller-based electronic (or mechatronic) project which every successful participant must submit. Best student's (and worthy) projects are published on our website.

     DURATION

MCU 400 is a short program designed to last for 3 weeks.

     PRE REQUISITE

Any person with basic knowledge of computer science can partake in this program. It is advisable you obtain a certificate in either BEC 100 or ECD 200 in Chai Wet Al Technologies or you have equivalent knowledge of basic electronics. INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS

Do you dream of building things that does things on their own? this course is for you then. What makes a robot a robot? it is not just the intelligence or sense of reasoning it has, it is the ability it has to process all the signals it receives from the surrounding and act according to how you designed it to act.

Chai Wet Al Technologies will expose you to how to design your robot and give it sense of reasoning.

INTRODUCTION TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI600)

Unlike human beings, robots cannot think for themselves. Some electronic components that changes their behavior when triggered by external stimuli which could be heat, light etc. are integrated into a device in order for it to be aware of its surroundings – that is called intelligence.

At Chai Wet Al Technologies, we will teach and guide you on how to give intelligence to your robot any electronic device you would like to build. Visit us today and explore the world of smart and intelligent systems. In order for you to enjoy the class, knowledge of BEC100 will be very handy.

  • How to design your own RC airplanes
  • How to control and Fly your model planes Using our Simulator

  • INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING

After building a smart system the next thing to do is give the system sense of reasoning. That is done through programming. You have to give the system instruction on how to react to changes it receives from its surrounding. You cannot use the language humans communicate with to communicate with to communicate with your system nor can you use the machine language which is a string of 0s and 1s, you have to employ intermediate language so you and your system can understand each other. Register with us today and learn how to give not only intelligence to your system(robot) but also a sense of reasoning.

Knowledge of how do some basic tasks like invoking an application and how to type will be very handy. Give your robot sense of reasoning by learning programming.
